Project Information

Title:

Research on Potential Housing Adaptations in Response to Climate Change in Bangladesh

Client:

Habitat for Humanity International–Bangladesh

Project Description:

This project was carried out from April 2019 to September 2019 to identify the house construction materials and methods that are appropriate to climate change adaptation in Bangladesh. By collecting available innovative materials in the country and compile the construction methodologies and building design elements through the survey at the level of acceptability of these materials in poor urban and rural communities in Mymensingh and Jamalpur. Stratified Random Sampling method was applied to collect the data from different stakeholders, DM Watch developed a prototype design of a “climate-smart home” and key messages for the development of a training module with potential for practical demonstration for poor local communities under the project area.
